If you called the number on your television screen during the Concert for Hurricane Relief on Friday night, you might have reached a Kalispell volunteer.

Seventy-five TeleTech employees from the Kalispell call center volunteered their time to process calls from people all over the country wanting to donate to disaster relief.

"We were able to take 1,000 calls an hour," said Lee Maxon, TeleTech site director. "Our employees were really excited about being able to do this. It was a way for them to help out the hurricane victims."

Kalispell center volunteers were on the phones from 6-10 p.m. Kalispell was one of six TeleTech sites participating in the telethon.

Volunteers used an Internet protocol supplied by the Red Cross that gave them the correct questions to ask each caller prior to accepting the donation.

Donations raised during the concert go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

TeleTech has previously been involved in several charity telethons.
