A motorcyclist was killed Friday night in a collision with a pickup at Fifth

Avenue West and Eighth Street West in Kalispell. The driver of the truck was not injured.

A motorcyclist was killed Friday night in a collision with a pickup at Fifth Avenue West and Eighth Street West in Kalispell. The driver of the truck was not injured.

According to a Kalispell Police Department spokesperson, the motorcyclist failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with the truck. The motorcycle was headed west on Eighth Street West, and the truck was going north on Fifth Avenue West when the accident occurred at 8:22 p.m.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and alcohol was considered to be a factor in the accident, police said.

The victim was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by Kalispell ambulance. The man was then flown by air ambulance to Harbor Views Medical Center in Seattle, where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
