| September 7, 2005 1:00 AM

Dorothy Anna "Granny Goose" Skillestad, 90, "went to Heaven to be with the Lord" on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Kalispell.

She was born March 5, 1915, in Glendive, to Fred and Minnie (Knoke) Haupt. Dorothy grew up in Glendive with her brother, Richard Haupt. She attended business college in Spokane, and in 1933 married Cecil Skillestad. The couple moved to Livingston and raised three daughters and one son.

Dorothy's first loves were singing and playing piano and organ music. She played for many years in church as well as for family and friends. She touched many lives with her music and the giving of her hand-made "Granny Goose Greeting Cards."

Retiring at the age of 84, she enlightened people with her genuine warmth and beautiful smile. Family and friends will cherish her memory and miss her very much.

She is survived by one brother, Dick Haupt of Charlotte, N.C., and his family's families; three daughters, Karen Collins and husband, Ray, Kristi Waldo, and Kathy Skillestad with Stephen Wills, all of Kalispell; one son, David Skillestad, and wife, Fern, of Ione, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous loving friends.

Memorial services for Dorothy will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Cutler officiating. Urn burial will follow at the Nye Cemetery in Nye at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Dorothy's family.
