Edward James Reeves, 53

Edward James "Ed" Reeves of Eugene, Ore., died Sept. 1, 2005.

He was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Polson, to Cleo and Phyllis Reeves.

Ed married Cindy Post on Aug. 25, 1973. The couple divorced in 1999. He later married Brenda Kegler in 2002.

Ed grew up in Kalispell. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1975. He received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979, completed his internship/residency in Denver, and began practice in Springfield, Ore., in 1980. He had a family medical practice in Springfield for the past 25 years.

He enjoyed golfing, basketball, coaching, the ocean, University of Oregon Duck football, music, his family, his AA friends and his patients.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda, and her children of Eugene, Ore.; his daughters, Kristina Reeves Rust and son-in-law, Eric Rust, of Springfield, and Katie Reeves of Eugene; and former wife, Cindy (Post) Reeves, formerly of Kalispell; one sister, Barbara Coppedge and husband, Mike, of Vancouver, Wash.; one nephew, Michael Coppedge and niece, Michelle Coppedge, both of Vancouver; and mother, Phyllis Reeves of Kalispell.

He was preceded in death by his father, C.E. Reeves.

Services will be held today, Sept. 8, in Eugene, Ore.
