Band Aid: Groups perform for a cause

A full day of music on Sunday in Kalispell will raise money for the American Red Cross's hurricane relief efforts in New Orleans.

Called Band Aid, the event features music from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Eagles in Kalispell.

Admission is free; donations are requested.

Many musicians are donating their time and talents to the concert, which is sponsored by the city of Kalispell with the help of the Flathead Valley Jazz Society.

The music lineup:

2 p.m. - Montana Light. With Tom Burroughs as vocalist and bass player, Sandy Sanderson on piano and Jim Andler on drums, the group plays light jazz and standards.

p.m. - Jack Waller Trio. Waller, Dylan Dwyer on saxophone and Paul Faessel on bass are known for their bluesy brand of hard-drivin' swing.

4 p.m. - Rod Fisher, cool jazz

5 p.m. - Company Brass. This dance band has played Dixie, Latin and jazz standards at the Bigfork Inn for the last 24 years. The group features Elaine Mudgett on vocals and piano, Don Rudolph on bass and Sonny Russo on saxophone.

6 p.m. - Andre Floyd, blues and folk guitarist, vocals

7 p.m. - Rockabilly Band. The Rockabilly Band offers 1950s and '60s dance tunes featuring Billy Angel on guitar and vocals, Mark Meznarich on bass and Jack Waller on drums.

8 p.m. - Big Daddy and the Blue Notes. The group plays upbeat Chicago-style blues, firmly rooted in the tradition of the great masters of the 1950s and '60s.

9 p.m. - Blue Onion. With T.J. Moses, Ken Sederhahl and Chris Coen, the band offers a range of blues and rock styles, from ballads to funky instrumentals.
