Gerald Dale 'Jerry' Schilling, 53
Gerald Dale "Jerry" Schilling, 53, of Somers, passed away on Sept. 7, 2005, at his home.
Jerry was born on Jan. 20, 1952, in Havre, to Ervin and Helen Schilling. He was raised on the family farm and attended schools in Harlem, graduating from Harlem High School in 1970.
Jerry married Sherry Norheim, and they had three children, Stephanie, Charles and Dustin. Jerry and Sherry later divorced.
Jerry graduated from Northern Montana College, with a degree in English. He taught school at Shelby High School for one year, then decided to further his education at Ole Miss, where he worked with the theater department which lead him to a job at Wichita State.
Jerry came back to Montana in the spring of 2004 to help take care of his mother and father in Somers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin; and one brother Wayne.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Motherway of Fort Collins, Colo., two sons, Charles Schilling of Somers, and Dustin Schilling of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Nathan and Madelynn Motherway of Fort Collins; his mother, Helen Schilling, of Kalispell; one sister, Sharon Bruyer of Kalispell; brothers, Charles of Harlem, Mark and William, both of Havre. For his many friends and family who loved him so very much, he will truly be missed.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Harlem Cemetery in Harlem.
Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell, and Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook, are caring for the family.
