Stephanie Dahl believes that where there's a will, there's a way.

The Hungry Horse woman is raffling off her Harley Davidson motorcycle to pay her way to Mississippi, where she plans to help hurricane-stricken family members get back on their feet.

"It's hard," she said. "My mom is there, my sister, stepmom, aunts and uncles, my son's grandparents. I've heard from all of them, and I want to help. My grandmother's house, which made it through [Hurricane] Camille, is pretty damaged."

Her plan is to sell 200 raffle tickets for $50 apiece. She'll draw a name on Oct. 15, and the winner gets her 1980 Harley low-rider. Selling her prized possession is the only way she can raise the money, she said.

Those wanting to buy a raffle ticket can call 387-4113 or stop by the Dam Canyon Shop at 9004 U.S. 2 in Hungry Horse.

Most of her relatives live in Bay St. Louis and Waveland, Miss., and others live in Ocean Springs, near Biloxi, Miss.

"I have chain saws and carpentry tools," Dahl said. "I want to do what I can."
