Jean F. Suhr, 79

Jean F. Suhr, 79, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Home of natural causes.

She was born Olive Jean Farmer on Aug. 16, 1926, in Great Falls. She was adopted at birth by Alfred E. and Olive A Farmer. Jean attended schools in Great Falls, graduating from high school in 1944. She then attended college in St. Paul, Minn., Kalispell, and Great Falls. She loved expanding her mind through continuous education.

Jean married Louis William "Bill" Suhr on Dec. 26, 1950, in Great Falls. Together they adopted and raised three children. Jean was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church in Great Falls, Polson and Christ Church Episcopal here in Kalispell, and her local chapter of the P.E.O. She helped support several children through Amnesty International, and spent many years raising money for the Friends of the Library.

Life enjoyments for Jean included animals, gardening and her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved studying and playing the classical organ. She loved traveling, and had been to several countries around the world.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. Farmer and Olive Dobson Farmer and her devoted husband Bill.

She is survived by her brother, Alfred E. Farmer Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her three children, Stephen F. and Teresa Suhr of Kalispell, Esther J. and Ken Suhr-Stewart of Townsend, and Marybeth Surh of Santa Clara, Calif.; four grandchildren, Dustin and his wife, Leslie, Tiffany and Sari Surh, and Hillary Hale; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Zoe Suhr.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Christ Church Episcopal in Kalispell.

The family request memorials be sent to the Friends of the Library, in care of the county library, the Episcopal Church, or donor's choice in Jean's name.
