Among a packed courtroom Monday for the Dick Dasen sentencing were seven of the 12 people who convicted him.
They wanted to see the resolution to the case that they spent four weeks listening to in May.
Juror LaVera Foster of Kalispell said she is "reasonably" satisfied with the sentence, which is 20 years with 18 suspended. Dasen faced as many as 125 years in prison.
"It's the best they could come out with, due to legalities," she said.
"Some people are disappointed." She said she has heard that justice wasn't done. But, she believes, "Justice can never be done. You can't restore things."
She doesn't want to speak for others, but, "As a group, we feel our system is working," she said.
Flathead Valley is "so blessed" to have a judge like Stewart Stadler and the judicial system and law-enforcement community it does, Foster said.
"They did really well."
