The Flathead County Sheriff's Office received a number of complaints about bad dogs, including one on Zimmerman Road that a woman pepper-sprayed. Twice. But the animal-story-of-the-day award goes to the woman on U.S. 2 East, where a cougar on her porch wouldn't let her into her home. An animal warden was notified.

At Helena Flats Court, a man reported someone using his bank card on-line to buy things. Two guitars were stolen from Silverleaf Drive. A sweatshirt was swiped on Willow Glen Drive. A computer printer and business records were stolen from a business. Tools were stolen from Mare Lane. Skis, poles, boots, and a cell phone were liberated from a storage unit on LaBrandt Road.

Threats were reported on Hart Hill Drive and on Tally Lake Road. Two men were discouraged from begging at Glacier Center.

Two men in an older blue Mustang cruised suspiciously around a Helena Flats Road neighborhood at 2:45 a.m., when a resident discovered his gas can had been relocated to his driveway. Minutes later, someone reported a man walking on Helena Flats Road; he was gone when a deputy arrived.

Two forged checks were reported by Lane's Conoco. A man said his ex-wife forged an credit application in his name at Target and then ran up a $4,000 debt in his name.

At Glacier Produce, someone took a money bag and left through a back door, escaping in a blue Dodge truck.
