Fern Edna Morrison, 96

Fern Edna Morrison, 96, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at the Brendan House in Kalispell. She was born June 27, 1909, in Avon, S.D., to Walter and Elizabeth (Ellison) Snowden.

Fern moved with her family to Buffalo Gap, S.D., where she received her education, attending high school both in Buffalo Gap and in Rapid City, S.D.

She married Charles Samuel Morrison on Dec. 6, 1928, in Sturgis, S.D., and in 1936 they moved to Custer, S.D., where they farmed until 1970, when they retired.

In retirement, they moved to Kalispell.

Fern was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Kalispell Eagles. She enjoyed reading, cooking and her family.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; her parents; one daughter, Marjory; one brother, Arthur; a sister, Dorothy; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois McClaren and husband, Bill, of Kalispell, and Marilyn Harbottle and husband, Duane, of Rifle, Colo.; two sons, Bill Morrison and wife, Ramona, of Quartzsite, Ariz., and Jim Morrison and wife, Leone, of Congress, Ariz.; two sisters, Myrle Harkness and Jean Dreany both of Edmonton, Alberta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
