CORVALLIS -Lisa Carter scored her 18th and 19th goals of the Class A soccer season and Alona Raymond and Beth Karper each had a goal to go with an assist as Columbia Falls defeated Corvallis 6-1 in nonconference soccer play Saturday.

Columbia Falls, 7-1 overall, found the net three times in both halves.

"We had a little weird start," said Columbia Falls coach Greg Trenerry.

"(Keeper) Vanessa Almanza punted the ball and it hit one of our players."

Corvallis' Ashley DeSilva picked up the loose ball and scored easily. That was just five minutes into the match.

Columbia Falls scored less than a minute later and it was all Wildkats after that.

"We played real well the whole game," said Trenerry.

"The whole team played great."

Trenerry said Amber Lampman in the middle and Sarah Frank in the back "did a good job organizing the defense.

"Ashley Horine up front had a great game," he continued.

"She worked hard."

Columbia Falls, 2-0 in league action, plays at Whitefish on Tuesday, 5 p.m.

Shut out for the first 65 minutes, Cory Pete finally broke the scoring drought with a goal at 65 minutes. Guy Smith, Alex Branch, Peter Vanhorn and D.J. Stoneman followed with goals.

"Five goals from five different people; that's great," said Columbia Falls coach Peter Browne.

"The kids ran hard, just a little unlucky (scoring)."

Columbia Falls outshot Corvallis on goal 34-10. Corner kicks favored the Wildcats 4-2.

"Getting better every week," said Browne.

"(Lee) Kizer was solid in goal. He had a couple key saves."
