Funeral for a friend

Pallbearers from the Smith Valley Fire Department (above) carry the casket of Mike Stotts to his gravesite Monday afternoon at Conrad Cemetery in Kalispell through lines of firefighters and police officers. About 100 fire and police workers stretched from the hearse to the gravesite to salute Stotts, who had been the state deputy fire marshal. Stotts volunteered for Smith Valley Fire Department, worked as a police officer in Columbia Falls and served as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church.
