Kalispell police

Kalispell police apprehended Joshua Menning, a 23-year-old man who escaped from custody Wednesday afternoon.

Menning and his girlfriend had been picked up for being in his father's house without permission, and for drug possession. They were being questioned at police headquarters. When officers left Menning in one interview room while they spoke with his girlfriend, he walked out. He was not in handcuffs at the time.

Police Chief Frank Garner said Menning was taken into custody again Wednesday evening.

Police received a complaint Wednesday morning about an evicted tenant who was now digging holes in the landlord's yard "in hopes that she'll fall into them."

A woman thought her house on Ponderosa Street was broken into Tuesday. It turns out a friend had come in and washed her sheets.

A burglary was reported on Riverside Drive in Kalispell. A computer was missing.

A neighbor reportedly stole someone's lawnmower on Ninth Avenue West on Tuesday.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy for family assault on Tuesday. A 21-year-old man was arrested for violating a restraining order. A 19-year-old male and 18-year-old male were arrested for DUI, in separate incidents.

There was a report of a lost basset hound in the 600 block of Third Avenue East. It's brown and white, has no collar, answers to the name of Marlee and has a kink in its tail.
