Larry 'Mac' Mackaman, 69

Larry "Mac" Mackaman, 69, of Whitefish, passed away Sept. 27, 2005, of natural causes at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Larry was born June 7, 1936, in Bemidji, Minn., the son of Lody and Flora Mackaman. The family moved to the Flathead in 1947 where Larry had since resided.

He loved the outdoors and began his logging career at age 17, working with his dad. He later owned and operated his own logging business for more than 30 years.

Larry was preceded in death by his son, Corey; parents, Lody and Flora; sister, Margaret Stai; and brothers, Sam and Dan.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Mackaman, of Whitefish; sons, Jeff Mackaman and wife, Joyce, of Winnemucca, Nev., and Kevin Mackaman and wife, Debbie, of Stevensville; granddaughters, Amber and Makayla Mackaman; sisters, Ruth Wentworth of Whitefish, and Bonnie Quiram of Kalispell; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at 364 Antelope Trail in Happy Valley.
