You can support the Hurricane Katrina relief effort by attending the valleywide garage sale Saturday and Sunday at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell.

Antiques and artwork, clothing, sporting goods and exercise equipment, furniture, tools, toys, jewelry, books, electronics and more will be priced to sell.

Donations may still be brought to the fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today. Donors are encouraged to have them priced reasonably.

All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army and the Red Cross. Representatives of both organizations will be present to accept cash donations, too.

For more details call 212-2024 or 862-4039.

People also can donate blood: The Red Cross also will conduct a blood drive from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds.

Another way you can contribute to relief efforts is through the Children's Shoe Box Mission.

Fill a shoe box with any of the school supplies listed and bring it to the fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The boxes will be delivered to needy children in the Gulf Coast area and at shelters.
