Charles Edward Willoughby, 55

Charles Edward Willoughby, 55, passed away Thursday evening, March 30, 2006, near Homestake Lake, doing something he loved in the outdoors.

Charlie was born in Butte on July 30, 1950, to John and Betty Jean (Little) Willoughby. He received his schooling in Butte, graduating from Butte High School in 1968.

He has worked for United Building Centers for the past 33 years. On June 24, 2000, he married Shirley Ann Dunks in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Charlie loved everything outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping, rafting, biking and especially snowmobiling. He also enjoyed carpentry work and was looking forward to his retirement in June when he planned to pursue his new occupation. Charlie lived life to the fullest and would lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Most of all he loved his family and had a very special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Heather.

Charlie was known and loved by people from all walks of life and will be remembered and missed greatly by all of those whose lives he touched.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean, and his brother, Jack.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Rocker; daughters and son-in-law, Chrissy and Terry Martin and Julie Willoughby, all of Butte; stepchildren, Jim and Kathy Dunks of Park City, Utah, Kelly Dunks of St. Paul, Minn., and Kristi Dunks and Richard Nelson of Redondo Beach, Calif.; granddaughter, Heather Parks of Butte; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Alen Hutchins and Lynn and Shawn LeCoure, all of Butte; sister-in-law, Em Willoughby of Helena; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Mo Willoughby of Kalispell; stepfather, Joe Chatriand of Georgetown; stepbrothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Susan Chatriand and Rick Chatriand, all of Missoula, and Gary and Lacrecia Chatriand of Butte; stepsister, Sandra Kuschel of Onamia, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home.
