Children's entertainer Bill Harley to appear at benefit
The Daily Inter Lake
Storyteller and children's songwriter Bill Harley is coming back to the valley May 6 as a benefit for the Discovery Developmental Center.
If you've developed a healthy fear of what's down in the backpack or of wearing your new sneakers in the woods where the swamp monsters snatch them, chances are you're already a Bill Harley fan.
If not, you will be after seeing his Kalispell concert. It begins at 2 p.m. May 6 at the Christian Center.
Harley is a Grammy-nominated entertainer with a unique blend of songs and stories. With insight and humor, he tells about growing up and parenting like no other performer.
A regular commentator on the National Public Radio show "All Things Considered," Harley has put out 25 recordings of songs and stories, a concert video with his band, The Troublemakers, and five children's books.
Advance tickets are $12.50 for adults, $8.50 for children 12 and younger and for adults older than 65. At the door, tickets cost $15 and $10, respectively.
They're on sale now at Imagination Station stores in Kalispell and Whitefish, Books West in Kalispell, A Mother's Blessing in Kalispell (at the corner of Idaho Street and Fifth Avenue West), and Electric Avenue Books in Bigfork. They also can be purchased at Discovery center, 75 Glenwood Drive, in Kalispell.
Call Discovery at 756-7295 or e-mail ddiscovery@centurytel.net.
Event sponsors are McCrorie Heating and Cooling, The Brace Place, A Mother's Blessing, Centennial Timber Frame, Taktik Marketing and other local businesses.
