Bravettes drop pair to Butte

BUTTE - Errors once again spelled doom for the Bravettes softball team.

Flathead fell twice to Butte High on Saturday, 15-4 and 16-4.

In the first game, the Bulldogs scored on nine unearned runs, and six more errors in the second game were too much for the Bravettes to overcome.

"We're just not together yet," Flathead coach Dale Beerman said. "We're going to try some things next week and see if we can snap out of this."

With winds blowing out at speeds of 30 miles per hour, the game was a batter's paradise. Six times the ball went sailing over the fence, but only once because of a Flathead player. Hannah Vanek was the lone Bravette to knock one out of the park.

"She hit it pretty hard," Beerman said. "Butte hit some pretty hard, too, but we have to field the ball better."

Vanek had the best day at the plate for the Bravettes, going 3-6 for the day.

Flathead hosts Hellgate on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
