Rains shortens tennis outings for Flathead

MISSOULA - Rain shortened tennis action Saturday with the Flathead boys almost getting in one match while the Flathead girls split with Missoula Big Sky and Missoula Sentinel.

Flathead's Ellie Brown went undefeated in singles play, winning at the No. 2 and 3 spots.

"She had two tough matches today" said FHS coach Buck Measure.

"Her match against Rachel Newton (Sentinel) was one of the longest on the day."

Brown won that one - 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.

"She had to maintain her compsoure and to be patient on the day because of her match taking so much time,"

said Measure.

The Braves did not play Hellgate or Big Sky because of the rain while the Bravettes missed out on playing Hellgate.

Flathead, weather permitting, is back on the court Tuesday hosting Polson and Columbia Falls, starting at 2 p.m. at the FVCC courts.
