Whitefish netters vanquish Vals
The Daily Inter Lake
WHITEFISH - Danni Paulson, No. 1 singles, and Whitefish stayed perfect on the tennis season Thursday with a 6-1 dual victory over Bigfork.
Paulson, 9-0 on the spring, cruised by Trisha Smith, 6-0, 6-0.
Whitefish won 1-2-3 singles and swept the three doubles matches to move to 5-0 in dual play.
Whitefish has lost just one dual in the last 2 1/2 years.
"We shook up our lineup and I thought we played extremely well in doubles," said Whitefish coach Patrick Dryden.
"I don't know if it was the new combinations, but I think it was more the improved play, especially at the net."
Whitefish gets a break in the action, waiting until April 27th for a dual with Libby.
"We'll do a lot of challenge matches the next week," said Dryden.
"We've had too tight a schedule (to be able to do that so far). We have to keep tweaking the doubles until we have the right combination."
