Flathead County Sheriff's Office was called to a neighborhood where the odor of marijuana was reported. A deputy found nothing illegal, but noticed the noxious scent of some bad cooking.

There were several misunderstandings and just strange reports for officers to sort through.

One involved a man at McGregor Lake, dressed entirely in white, complete with a white hat and cape, strolling with a walking stick and a plastic bag, and wearing a crucifix. A deputy found no harm in that.

Another man caused concern when he was found lying in the Smith Valley School parking lot, wrapped in clothes, with a lot of items around him. He said he's on his way to the West Coast and a deputy deemed him no threat to anyone.

There have been strange sounds around Eckelberry Drive lately that makes at least one dog cower, according to a resident.

A resident on Torto Lane returned home Tuesday to find a small fire in his yard. It's not the first one in the area, either, he said.

A gate was cut at Jesco Boat Club.

A guy in Somers didn't have an emergency, he said. He told an officer that he sat on a phone and it dialed 911.

Aircraft overhead is worrying a North Fork Road resident.

A fence got fixed and marauding cows on Kelley Road went home.

A woman said she threw a cup of ice out of a window last Wednesday and a man thought she had thrown a beer bottle. He chased her down and beat her up, she reported Tuesday.

It began Tuesday night on Mountain Drive, when a resident complained of an unwelcome man. He came and went during the course of the night. On the fourth time deputies were called, they found him riding his bike up and down the street, yelling. He went to jail for disorderly conduct.

A cat on Batavia Lane is suspected of being rabid.

People on East Edgewood Drive, in Martin City, and on Blanchard Lake Road learned that with fire danger what it is, bon fires and fireworks are not a good idea.

At Doris Creek, a man was charged with family-member assault after an incident that allegedly involved a gun. On Big Mountain Road, a resident reported seeing someone with a flashlight on his property. The homeowner said he was armed with a shotgun. Nothing incendiary followed.

Someone was seen breaking into vehicles in Hungry Horse. Someone was seen running from a Coram home after breaking in through the back door..

Domestic problems were aired at Swan Lake Campground and at Leland's.
