John Richard Holmquist, 78

John Richard Holmquist, 78, of Kalispell and San Gabriel, Calif., died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

He had been living in his summer home in Kalispell.

John was born July 17, 1928, in Anaconda.

He and his wife, Dolores ,lived and worked in the Los Angeles area, and raised four boys, John, Thomas, Robert and Christopher. The boys and their wives, Lynn, Marlene, Ann and Tricia, gave John and Dolores 13 grandchildren.

John, a widower for 15 years, returned to his Montana roots two years ago when he bought land next to his cousin Marj DeZort's property, and built his summer home.

The time for John's visitation in Kalispell will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 14, at Johnson Mortuary. Final services for John will be held in Southern California. After those services, he will be buried next to his wife.
