Richard Sam' Rayburn, 64

Richard "Sam" Rayburn was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Seattle, and passed away Aug. 9, 2006, in Edmonds, Wash.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn; daughters, Dawn (George) Sly, and Pamela (Lisa) Rayburn; grandchildren, Megan, Daniel and David; parents, Harold "Swede" and Mary Nelson; brother, Chuck Nelson; sister, Donna (Larry) Blair; and nephews, Gordie and Sean.

Married in 1961, he was a loyal friend, a lover of cars, dogs, technology, eclectic collectibles and music.

He had a lengthy career in automotive repairs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Puget Sound Kidney Center, Patient Assistance Program Fund/KAP, 1005 Pacific Aye, Everett, WA 98201.

A memorial service was held Aug. 13, at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S., Edmonds, WA 98020.
