Beef cattle, hogs and lambs tallied $329,794 in 4-H and Future Farmers of America sales at the Northwest Montana Fair.
218 animals sold at market stock sale
Overall, 218 animals were sold - 25 steers, 41 lambs and 152 hogs. Many purchases were donated to area food banks.

. Beef averaged $3.81 a pound - $1.38 per pound more than 2005.
Grand champion - Miles Passmore sold a 1,300-pound steer for $5 a pound - totaling $6,500 - to ReMax of Bigfork.
Reserve champion - Matthew Probert sold a 1,330-pound steer at $4 a pound - totaling $5,320 - to Hammerquist & Casalegno Inc.
. Hogs averaged $4.79 a pound - $1.30 per pound more than 2005.
Grand champion - Megan Lynch sold a 265-pound hog at $9 a pound - totaling $2,385 - to Rocking Horse Ranch.
Reserve champion - Kate Lamm sold a 254-pound hog at $8.75 a pound - totaling $2,222.50 - to Kramer Enterprises.
. Lambs averaged $5.88 a pound - 89 cents per pound more than 2005.
Grand champion - Reese McAtlin sold a 111-pound lamb at $15 a pound - totaling $1,665 - to Western Outdoors and Norm's News.
Reserve champion - Jesse Hosler sold a 120-pound lamb at $10 a pound - totaling $1,200 - to Robert W. Ross Construction Co.
