Milo 'Dale' Gorton, 92

Milo "Dale" Gorton, 92, a lifetime Kalispell resident, passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. He was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Kalispell to Richard "Dick" and Hazle M. (Halstead) Gorton.

On June 5, 1936, Dale married Alton L. Nelson in Kalispell. They had one son, Roger Dale Gorton.

Dale worked in the office of the Kalispell Lumber Company from 1933 to 1963, when it liquidated its sawmill operations. He then worked as office manager for the Glacier Park Company at Somers, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1979.

He was a Master Councilor in the DeMolay, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and also a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Dale was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. His interests included fishing and hunting.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife in 1993.

He is survived by his son, Roger, and wife, Shirley, of Albuquerque, N.M., and his children, Andrew Gorton and Deborah Morrow; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cremation and a private family memorial service are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
