Shiela Juanita Herzog, 34
Shiela Juanita Herzog, 34, of Stevensville, formerly of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Aug. 17, 2006. "Shiela became our butterfly when the Lord came to take her home." After a long battle with illness, she is finally at peace.
Shiela was born July 18, 1972, in Great Falls, where she spent most of her life going between there and White Sulphur Springs. She moved to North Carolina, where she graduated from West Brunswick High School and returned to White Sulphur Springs.
She met Mark Herzog and they were married Dec. 10, 1994. Shiela, Mark and their three children, Alicia, Halie and Tristan, continued to make their home in White Sulphur Springs with a brief move to Alaska. They also spent a lot of time in Columbia Falls, a place Shiela fell in love with.
Shiela was involved with the school for many years. She spent five years working with Austin Clayton, whom she became deeply attached to. She took pride in her job and loved what she did. Eventually the family moved to Stevensville and Shiela became involved in the after-school program.
Shiela was loved by many. She had a smile that would light up a whole room. She may have been little, but she had a big heart and lots of love to give. She will be missed by every life that she touched.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lupe Deal.
She is survived by her husband, Mark, and children, Alicia, Halie, and Tristan, of Stevensville; her father, Floyd Elkins, of Great Falls; stepfather, Bill Deal, of White Sulphur Springs; brother and sisters, Manuel Trujillo of Helena, Mary and Gary Walter of White Sulphur Springs, Lita and Gary McDanel of Billings, Penny Trujillo of Albuquerque, N.M., Mike and Edwina Trujillo of Grants, N.M., Alex Trujillo of Helena, Jesse Elkins of Kentucky, and Tessa Elkins of Great Falls. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she all loved very much.
