Jennie Mae Pemble Ladenburg, 77

Jennie Mae Pemble Ladenburg died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.

Jennie was born Jan. 26, 1929, to Charles and Verna Pemble of the Deer Park community. She graduated from Flathead County High School and received a degree in nursing from Montana State College and Deaconess School of Nursing in Bozeman.

She was married in 1952 to John Ladenburg, and they settled in the Columbia Falls area, where they raised six sons and two daughters.

Jennie worked at the Montana Veterans Home from 1974 to 1983, serving as director of nurses. After her retirement due to health issues, she devoted herself to church activities at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Columbia Falls, where she participated on the pastoral council and was a member of CCW.

She also volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and started the cribbage program in the schools. In her spare time, Jennie loved reading, knitting, watching sports, playing cards, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lucille Parpart; her husband, John; and her sons, Charles and William 'Bill.'

She is survived by her children, Martha Philbin of Columbia Falls, Joseph of Bidor, Texas, Matthew of Havre, Mark of Columbia Falls, Paula Land of Seattle, and Patrick of Libby; nine grandsons and one granddaughter; and her brothers, Fay Pemble of Kalispell, and Chuck Pemble of Billings.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Richard's CCW or the Badrock Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
