A small water district that serves Happy Valley residents on the subdivision's southern edge has plenty of water and none of the problems associated with Happy Valley's larger Water District 8, its manager said.

A Daily Inter Lake article Tuesday detailed supply problems in Water District 8, the district that supplies the majority of Happy Valley homeowners.

Marj James, manager of Water District B, said her district serves 90 residents in the area generally south of Primrose Lane.

"There's plenty of water here," James said. "My people can water every day, all they want. We've never had any water problems."

James said that, after the Inter Lake story appeared, she fielded numerous phone calls from water users in her district who wondered if District B also has supply concerns.

That district was created in the late 1970s as Happy Valley development continued southward. It's served by one well drilled to 450 feet.

"Our tank is full," James said.

In Water District 8 to the north, however, sprinkling restrictions remain until Sept. 30. In that district, homes with even numbers can sprinkle only on Tuesday morning and evening, while odd-numbered homes are allowed sprinkling Friday morning and evening. Hand watering is allowed every day.
