Whitefish boys tie, girls won at Ronan Invitational

RONAN - The Whitefish High School golf teams nearly started the 2006 season off with a clean sweep of the Ronan Invitational Friday.
But the boys tied Hamilton atop the standings while the girls won by 30 strokes.
Chelsea Rae carded a 10-over 82 at the Mission Valley Country Club to lead the Whitefish girls with a second-place finish. Ronan's Shayla Couture won medalist honors by just one stroke over Rae. Polson's Julia DeGiallonardo scored an 87 to tie for third place.
The Whitefish girls scored 357 to beat Ronan and Polson by 30 points apiece. Led by Delbie Wilkin, Bigfork placed fourth.
On the boys side, Andre Groschupk led Whitefish with a 1-over 73 for a three-way tie for second place. Zac Wooten was the only other Bulldog in the top 10.
Libby's Jim Mee tied Groschupk for second.
Led by Jake Grebets, Polson placed third in the boys competition - 10 strokes behind Whitefish and Hamilton.
Eureka, led by Dalton Williams, placed fourth.
