Whitefish CARE hosts a Back-to-School Bash for Whitefish students and families from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Whitefish Armory.

Back-to-school bash planned in Whitefish

After the bash, high-school age students are welcome to stay for the music, which begins at 8 p.m.

The event includes a barbecue, and families are asked to bring a potluck side dish.

Car show today

Rocky Mountain Street Machines invites the public to a car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Total Speed and Performance in Kalispell.

Ferndale hosts arts festival

The Unsung Festival, an annual celebration of the arts, gets under way at 10 a.m. today outdoors at the Rocky Mountain Roadhouse in Ferndale.

A fundraiser for the VFW Post No. 4042, the celebration features music, dancing, arts and crafts, raffles, contests, activities, food and refreshments.

Musical guests will be Thom Harris, David Siegfrid and Jerry Buckaneer.

Admission is by donation of any amount, or bring nonperishable food items, clothing, blankets, household and educational supplies or toys.

The Rocky Mountain Roadhouse Bar and Grill is at the junction of state highways 209 and 83 east of Bigfork in Ferndale.

Whitefish Lake Swim is Sunday

The Whitefish Lake Swim will be held Sunday at Whitefish City Beach, offering be a one-mile swim for people ages 18 and older, and a half-mile swim for those ages 17 and younger.

Registration begins at 8 a.m.; race time is at 9:15 a.m. for the mile and 9:45 a.m. for the half mile. The entry fee is $15 to $20. Wet suits will be allowed.

Three museums hosting festival

The Conrad Mansion Museum, the Hockaday Museum of Art, and the Museum at Central School invite you to "Museums: and Music: A Festival of Culture," from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at those venues. Enjoy free museum admission, arts and crafts booths, and live music.

Food concessions will be by the arts and crafts fair, and refreshments will be offered at the museums. Enter the trivia game for a chance to win great prizes.

Hear live music beginning at 1 p.m. by Billy Angel at the Conrad Mansion Museum, David Walburn at the Hockaday, and Andre Floyd and Mood Iguana at the Museum at Central School.
