Mary Roman Heino, 91

Mary Roman Heino, 91, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, in Kalispell, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Red Lodge to Emanuel and Asunta Bettaga Roman. She was raised in Red Lodge, graduating from Carbon County High School in May 1937.

Mary was married to William V. Heino on Jan. 19, 1945, in Livingston.

When she was younger, Mary worked at Yellowstone Park, Sun Valley, Idaho, and in the shipyard in Seattle during World War II. She worked as a sheet metal worker, assisting in the building of 32 destroyers. In 1945, Mary and the love of her life, Bill, settled down in Kalispell where they raised four children. She was a devoted mother with very strong family values.

Mary really enjoyed her and Bill's retirement years traveling, and visiting many new places.

She was a member of the Italian Victory Girls in Red Lodge, active member of the RSVP, sang with the Sunshine Chorus, was a member of the Eagles for more than 10 years, was proud member of the DAV Auxiliary, and a Member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.

She enjoyed taking long walks, seeing new places, and watching her family grow.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; and a sister, Rose.

She is survived by her children, Karl and his wife, Mary, Dale and his wife, Gayle, Neil and his wife, Betty, and Jane and her husband, Jim Geralds; sister, Joann Fekety; grandchildren, Trina and husband, Tom Miller, Laurie and husband, Coy Aasheim, Brian and wife, Brandy Heino, Heather and husband, Craig Petersen, Ron Heino, Sadie and Becky Heino; great-grandchildren, James, Michael and Christopher Miller, Cody and Ciera Aasheim, and Ashley and Andrew Petersen.

Visitation was held Nov. 30. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am. today, Dec. 1, at Risen Christ Catholic Parish, with the Rev. Rudy Bullman officiating. Burial will be afterward at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
