Driver in fatality pleads innocent

A man accused of killing a woman in a drunken-driving crash pleaded innocent Thursday to negligent homicide.

Jason DeShazer, 22, of Kalispell, was the driver of a vehicle that reportedly crossed the center line of Montana 82 on Oct. 25, striking 27-year-old Dawn Bowker's vehicle head on.

She died at the scene. DeShazer was injured.

Investigators said that DeShazer was intoxicated at the time of the morning crash.

District Judge Ted Lympus set a jury trial for March 12.

Judge Stewart Stadler will preside over the trial.
