Kalispell police

| December 12, 2006 1:00 AM

Kalispell police found nothing criminal after a man reported a disturbing discovery at his house. He told police that in his wife's file box, she had a signed death certificate for him. The document listed his cause of death as blunt force to the head from a vehicle accident. Police Chief Frank Garner said officers found no evidence that the woman had used the phony document for insurance fraud or other nefarious reasons.

Police are investigating a number of break-ins and attempted break-ins to construction trailers. Thousands of dollars' worth of tools were taken.

A couple separated after a disturbance on Eighth Avenue West.

Someone tried to siphon gas on Parkway Drive.

It wasn't elfin magic that destroyed an inflatable Santa on Ninth Street West. It appeared to be more of a fireball.

From First Avenue West came a report that two dogs had attacked another dog that was lying helpless on the ground. It turned out to be a rolled up black mat and not a mauled mutt.
