Sally Mae (Colberg) Jorgensen of Plymouth, Minn., died of kidney cancer at her home surrounded by her family Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006. She was born May 3, 1937, in Dassel, Minn..

She graduated from Litchfield and St. Cloud, Minn., beauty school.

She married Raymond Jorgensen of Hutchinson, Minn., and they have three children.

Sally will be remembered fondly for her devotion to family, friendships, flowers, books and toy poodles.

Her quick wit and contagious smile were inspiring to others to live life to the fullest with a wide-open heart. Sally's patience, compassion and strength was the key to her passion for everything she became involved with.

Sally was an enthusiastic, passionate and quiet leader in her parish, diocese and the early Episcopal Cursillo movement, instrumental in the creation of Minnesota's copyrighted songbook that brought the joy of music. She enjoyed playing the guitar on early Episcopal and Lutheran weekends in Minnesota and Wisconsin, along with Camp Lawton. She also found time to volunteer at the Methodist Hospital and work at Bachmans for 10 years.

Sally was an encouraging and supporting spouse, mother and grandmother. Her winter get-away to Arizona, along with her many grandchildren and national park visits were highlights throughout the years.

She was blessed to host a small prayer group of women of 35 years that was affectionately named "The Sisterhood." We are honored to have had Sally in our lives.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, John and Velma Colberg (Hutton) of Litchfield.

She is deeply missed by her husband of 47 years, Raymond; children, Cindy Palm and Mike, Ron Jorgensen and Charlotte, and Sue Damen and Henk; grandchildren, Jamie, Lisa, Katie, David, Jeremy, Adam, Hendrik, Patrik and Laurien; she also leaves behind her dog, Angel; and her many friends and relatives.
