That's why most of us had turkey

While most of the valley was peaceful on Christmas, food turned out to be problematic. The Big Mountain Fire Department responded to an alarm on Big Mountain Road; it was activated by burned steak. A microwaved steak caused another alarm on Veterans Drive for the Columbia Falls Fire Department. On Airport Road, nothing literally burned, but a resident was steamed when his girlfriend moved out and took all the food.

There was a chase that ended with a call for a wrecker on South Fork Road, where the driver of a four-wheeler took off when a deputy tried to stop him.

A boat was vandalized at Somers Yacht Club and there were other acts of vandalism across the valley.

A peeping Tom was reported at O'Brien Terrace and Gage Terrace.

Intruders threw a rock through a window at Les Schwab. An attempted burglary was reported on East Cottonwood.
