will have to sort out conflicting reports that a couple made about a domestic problem on First Avenue West early Tuesday morning. A man reported that his wife tore out the phone, threw things, and behaved in a belligerent manner before he left. Two hours later, his wife called from the hospital, saying he had assaulted her.

A burglary was reported at Northwest Automotive, where items were stolen. There was a report that someone tried to pry open a door at Fifth Avenue Salon.

Brake lines were cut on a vehicle on Fifth Avenue East. On Windriver Drive, a windshield was shattered and wiper blades were broken.

A threatening obscene call was reported at the Salvation Army.

An officer had to explain to a woman on Second Avenue East that she shouldn't open mail that is not addressed to her. Her estranged husband had complained.

A man who loitered near a grocery store for six hours was given a ride to a homeless shelter.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested for family-member assault on First Avenue West.

Someone reported that a person held a gun on him at the Finish Line bar.

At Michael's Exxon, a woman reportedly ate some jerky from a package and left without paying for it. She was arrested later at a casino. More snack banditry was reported at Linderman School, where the principal reported that one student stole another student's Rice Krispies treat.

A paddle boat was reported stolen on Eighth Avenue West.
