James Lewis 'Jim' Daley, 71

James Lewis "Jim" Daley, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at HealthCenter Northwest.

He was born May 5, 1934, in Larimore, N.D., the son of Patrick E. and Ethel L. (Olson) Daley.

Jim was in the U.S. Air Force, retired for 21 years, then moved to Kalispell to become a public relations advocate for fire and police across the country until 2003 where he retired full time. A Korean and Vietnam wars veteran, and captain and lifetime member of the VFW, he was also a member of the Moose Lodge.

Jim loved NASCAR racing, playing cards, and being with friends at Syke's Market for coffee every day.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Daley (Managhan), and his parents, Patrick and Ethel (Olson) Daley.

Jim is survived by three sons, Brian Daley and wife, Pam, of Elko, Nev., Patrick Daley and wife, Janet, of Clayton Wash., and Tim Daley and wife, Pam, of Aloha, Ore.; brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Jim Daley will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Glenn Burfeind officiating. Urn Burial will be afterward. There will be no visitation.
