The Flathead County Sheriff's Office
kept busy Monday evening with vehicle accidents across the county. Among the crashes to which they dispatched emergency personnel were a rollover on Montana 40 and Conn Road, a vehicle on its side north of Whitefish, a rollover south of Bigfork, two crashes on Montana 35, an accident south of Somers that left a vehicle hung up in a fence, a rollover near Coffee Traders south of Whitefish, and a crash on U.S. 93 south of Lakeside that launched one vehicle off the highway and left another in the traffic lane.
Search-and-rescue teams and ski patrol were called out Monday evening when two missing skiers were reported on Big Mountain. They were found an hour and a half later in a bar, where they said they had been lost, found themselves and had just arrived in the bar.
A woman called for help on South Many Lakes Drive to say some neighbors came over and yelled at her and her boyfriend, and her mother entered the fray. In the end, no one wanted to press charges.
Some pushing characterized a family disturbance on Elk Park Road on Monday night. Tuesday, a man called to say that he returned later and some of his things were missing or vandalized.
A 22-year-old man suspected his parents had stolen his car, but that turned out to be unfounded.
A man dressed in black caused concern by walking in traffic on U.S. 2 in the dark.
A man was arrested at a family disturbance on Montana 35.
Windows were broken in a vehicle at Wal-Mart.
Something seemed fishy when four men arrived at Hoffman Draw and claimed they worked for the power company. They said they were looking for a telephone pole with a red flag on it.
