Flathead County Sheriff's Office deputies
and others arrested a couple on Dodd Road Tuesday night after serving a search warrant. Charges are pending against Tammy Olson, 36, and Jody Evans, 30. Patrol Commander Pete Wingert said officers seized a gram and a half of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and five guns.
A gun fired near the Kila post office Thursday night sent a nearby couple to the floor in fear. A deputy recovered 9-millimeter shell casings and shotgun shells.
A sexual-assault report is under investigation.
There were several traffic accidents in town and in the county; none resulted in serious injuries.
A weekend burglary on the South Fork Road was reported.
Deputies checked out a report of a fight at Shopko and found two boys engaged in friendly wrestling. There were a number of other misunderstandings, including a woman who assured officers she is not being held hostage, despite concern by a relative; a man reported missing from a construction site was just delayed by vehicle problems; and a motion detector at a business was activated by a Valentine's Day balloon.
Men were arrested for partner assault on U.S. 2 east and on Burn Street. A woman was arrested after reportedly driving into a fence on Electric Avenue. Phone threats were reported on U.S. 2.
A new, green couch, still in a Costco box, was stolen from a storage unit on Whitefish Stage Road.
