Arthur L. English, 69

Arthur L. English, 69, of Ocean Shores, Wash., died Jan. 28, 2006, in Aberdeen, Wash., after a brief bout with cancer.

He was born in Kellogg, Idaho, and graduated Springfield, Ore., High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and then he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 26 years in Springfield.

He married his wife, Barbara, in 1978 in Reno, Nev. They became campground managers for eight years traveling across the United States at various U.S. Forest Service Campgrounds in a 38-foot motor home. They retired to Ocean Shores, Wash., in 2003.

Art was respected and loved by all those he came in contact with.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, who resides at the family home; his son, Roger English, of Kalispell; his daughter, Corby Morey, of Sherwood, Ore.; stepchildren, David and Ross Miller of Springfield, Ore., Cindy Elvig of Kent, Wash., and Allan Miller of Meridian, Idaho; one sister, Donna Colburn of Deming, N.M.; a sister-in-law, Jeri Jennings, of Vancouver, Wash; 14 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Jan. 31 at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.
