Hashley's shot lifts Flathead

MISSOULA - The Flathead Bravettes' Holli Hashley may have scored a few points less than usual, but her final two points were all that mattered.

Flathead was tied with Missoula Sentinel, 38-38, with just 13 seconds left Thursday night. Sentinel's Tiffany Seeberger missed her second free throw, and Flathead's Lindsey Ingram grabbed the rebound.

Meghan O'Connell took the pass from Ingram and drove the length of the floor and found Hashley on the left post.

Hashley drained the shot with three seconds left for the win, 40-38, in the Western AA matchup.

Her shot was the only field goal that went in for the Bravettes in the fourth quarter.

"We knew there wasn't a lot of time," Flathead coach Dennis Latimer said. "We told Meghan to get the ball and just go. I told (Hashley) to get low and expect a play."

Flathead led by 11 points after the first half, but watched the lead evaporate in the second half. As the Bravettes' scoring drought went on in the fourth, Sentinel tied the game 37-37 with less than two minutes of play.

"There wasn't a big enough lead you could have," Latimer said. "We had some costly mistakes down the stretch with handling the ball."

The Bravettes, now 13-5 overall and 6-3 in conference, look to knock Missoula Big Sky out of the second spot tonight at 7:30 p.m. at FHS.
