Auction today benefits man, 23
A benefit auction for Justin Watkins will be held today in the Kountry Kitchen at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Proceeds will go toward the 23-year-old's treatment at the Mayo Clinic for vascular disease in his legs.
Doors open at noon, and the auction gets under way at 2 p.m. Log beds, motel certificates, sporting goods, tools and more will be sold.

Snow scavenge today at resort
Whitefish SfC (Skiers/Snowboarders for Christ) are hosting a snow scavenge from 4 to 9 p.m. today on Big Mountain.
Tickets cost $15 and include family activities, night skiing and a scavenger hunt from 5 to 7 p.m. Local skiers and riders will give an exhibition at 7 p.m. at the terrain park. Tickets are available today at Snowghost Outfitters on Big Mountain.
A portion of each ticket goes to SfC for the Flathead Fat Tire Association's dirt jump building project near the Whitefish Armory.

Depot Park benefit is tonight
If you like good music and concerts at Depot Park, you're invited to a fundraising concert from 7 to midnight today at the Eagles.
Proceeds will go toward building a band shell at the park.
Live music will be by the Legends of Jazz and Deja Vu. The evening includes a silent auction and will be catering by Amazing Crepes.
Tickets are $20 each and available at the door.

Art show, auction set for this weekend
Several local artists are hosting an art show and sale with a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Original oils and watercolors, and other art will be available.

Sunday lecture covers history of the Flathead
The second talk in the John White lecture series is at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Ave. E, in Kalispell.
Terry Fosbery, instructor of history at Flathead Valley Community College, will talk about the turbulent history of the Flathead with his topic, "Northwest Montana: 1890s to 1920s, Populists, Wobblies, Labor Violence, and the Army Comes to Town."
