First Night Flathead

The Wilbur Rehmann quartet kicks off First Night Flathead 2006 at the Noice Studio and Gallery early Saturday evening in downtown Kalispell. Wilbur Rehmann, pictured playing two saxophones during "Song for my Father", was joined by Erik Smith on bass, Jeremy Slead on drums and Mark Walker (not pictured) on piano. The quartet played at the original First Night Flathead.

As the horses pause to allow more passengers into the carriage, Catherine Turk, 7, visits with one of the animals. Offering First Night participants a ride, Rainbow Carriage Services owner Alan Quimby guided the horses and the carriage through downtown Kalispell for several hours Saturday evening.
