Kalispell police

| January 2, 2006 1:00 AM

are investigating a man's claim that he was stabbed Monday afternoon outside of Appleway Conoco.

He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he reportedly was released after he was treated for superficial cuts to his face and a stab wound to his abdomen that wasn't life threatening.

Detective Jim Wardensky said the man in his mid-20s told police he left a bar at about noon and drove his van to the gas station to put air in his tires. There, a black car pulled up and two people got out of the back, he said. One man reportedly punched him while the other put him in a headlock. After they left, he realized he was bleeding and drove himself to his mother's house on Third Avenue West, where an ambulance and police were contacted, according to the man's story.

No vehicle matching the description of the one in the attack was found.

A brazen burglar reportedly opened garage doors to get to vehicles inside. Thefts from vehicles were reported on Rosewood Drive, Underhill Court, West Arizona Street and Bing Court.

A father said his son pushed and threatened him on Parkway Drive.

On Saturday night, a man at a bar reportedly threatened to urinate in another man's gas tank. When the vehicle owner went to pick up his car Sunday, the gas cap was off, fueling suspicion that someone had marked his territory there.

At Motel 6 on Sunday, a man showed up, bloody and not wanting to reveal what happened to him.

Later, a man in the emergency room at the hospital said he'd earlier stabbed someone. He left, but his knife was confiscated.

Two intoxicated men reportedly harassed a resident on Eighth Avenue West.

A man was charged with probation violation and escape, and another was cited for resisting arrest and obstructing an officer at Mulligan's on Sunday.

Home is where the mall is, apparently, for a man who was arrested after he was discovered sleeping there at 3:30 a.m. Saturday; he returned and was caught again Sunday night; an officer took him to the Police Department lobby, where he was allowed to spend the night.

A power washer that was stolen last August materialized at a pawn shop, according to a report.

A man on the verge of being evicted on Fifth Avenue West reportedly pulled a neighbor out of his vehicle, yelled obscenities at him, and kicked the vehicle in some kind of unfriendly farewell rite.
