Eric May chosen to serve as carnival prime minister

Eric May, co-owner of the Bulldog Saloon and Grill, has been named prime minister for the 2006 Whitefish Winter Carnival.
May was honored at Friday's Merry Maker celebration in Whitefish. Carlene Casey Moes was announced as duchess of Lark at the Merry Maker.
May was born in Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1966, grew up in Havre and then moved to Whitefish, graduating from Whitefish High School in 1985.
He graduated from the University of Montana in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis in teaching.
After teaching and coaching in Mesa, Ariz., for seven years he returned to the Flathead Valley in 1998 to help with the family business.
Whitefish High School's freshman football coach since 1998, May also has been involved in a variety of youth sports including Little Guy Football and Whitefish Little League baseball. He currently is a board member for the Glacier Hockey Association.
He also was Whitefish's head softball coach from 2000-04.
Besides his interest in youth sports, May enjoys golf and traveling, and spending time with his wife, Amy, and sons Jake, 11, and Luke, 8.
This will be the second year Casey Moes has served as the duchess.
She has served on the Winter Carnival board for six years and was Queen of the Snows in 2002.
Casey Moes has been involved with the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador and is currently vice president of the Chamber board. She is an active volunteer in the community and has assisted with various fund-raising events for the Chamber and the Whitefish Theatre Company.
Casey Moes moved to Whitefish in 1996 from Seattle. She has worked for Cambridge Integrated Services as a claims adjuster handling medical malpractice claims for 18 years.
She now telecommutes from the Flathead.
She has one son, Dillon, 10. Aside from Winter Carnival, her four passions include spending time with her son, kayaking, fly fishing and scuba diving.
