Christine 'Chris'McCully, 62

| January 10, 2006 1:00 AM

Christine "Chris" McCully died Jan. 7, 2006, at home. She was born in Eureka on Feb. 7, 1943, to Darrell and Lillian Roose. She was a lifelong resident of Eureka.

She married Keith McCully in 1962 and had four children, Darrell, Travis, and Lance, and daughter, Gail.

Chris could always be found wherever her children happened to be, and later wherever her grandchildren happened to take her. Whether it was football, wrestling or team roping, she was there cheering for her children. Chris was a devoted wife and mother.

In later years she cared for those who couldn't take care of themselves. She could always be counted on to help if you called. Chris's kitchen was often referred to as the neighborhood coffee shop. There was never a time that you stopped in that someone was not there visiting around the kitchen table with coffee cup in hand. She was a truly generous person.

Chris will be missed by all who ever met her.

Chris is survived by her husband, Keith McCully; sons, Darrell and Lance McCully; daughter, Gail Mee; grandchildren, Cole, Kallee, Morgan, Dalton, Michael, Lexy, Travis and Chet; father, Darrell Roose; brother, Kent Roose; and sister, Linda Shoup.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Roose; brother, Kurt Roose; and son, Travis McCully.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Eureka.

Arrangements are by Nelson and Vial Funeral Home in Eureka.
