Harry 'Logan' Pennoyer, 84

Harry "Logan" Pennoyer, 84, of Ronan, was "called home by our Lord" surrounded by loved ones Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006.

Logan was born April 3, 1921, in a covered wagon in Nirada, to Fred and Laurell Pennoyer.

He was a World War II veteran serving with the Army Air Corps in Burma. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Montana, where he worked several jobs including the Flathead mines and construction of the Hungry Horse Dam. He then started at the Anaconda Aluminum plant, where he worked for 28 years until retiring.

In 1983, he moved to Ronan. He was one of the founding fathers of the Kalispell Volunteer Fire Department and the Ravalli Community Church where he was an active member.

He married Thelma Tallard in 1961, later divorcing.

In November 1983, he married Blanche Marquardt in Ronan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, Clayton and Melvin; and one sister, Alice James; his daughter, Laurell Anne, and stepson, Harland Tallard.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche, three daughters, Kathy Pennoyer Smith of Emmett, Idaho, Cindy Ward of Baileyton, Ala., and Paula Garrison of Kalispell; one sister, Ella Jane Nelson, of Fayetteville, Ark.; and five grandchildren, Logan Bussey, Chandra Smith, Rashael Cozad, Dallas Cozad and Gracey Garrison.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ravalli Community Church, with Pastor Lee Wraith officiating, with graveside services afterward Friday morning in Ronan.
