Fire near Eureka nearly contained

Full containment was expected today on the Warex Fire south of Eureka.
The fire was 95 percent contained on Friday.
The fire, sparked by a lightning strike on July 1, was held to 45 acres despite thunderstorms and accompanying wind on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The storms also brought 1/10 of an inch of rain.
Crews were being demobilized from the fire on Friday.
Two hotshot crews and nine smokejumpers, assisted by a helicopter, remained on the fire Friday.
