Full containment was expected today on the Warex Fire south of Eureka.

The fire was 95 percent contained on Friday.

The fire, sparked by a lightning strike on July 1, was held to 45 acres despite thunderstorms and accompanying wind on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The storms also brought 1/10 of an inch of rain.

Crews were being demobilized from the fire on Friday.

Two hotshot crews and nine smokejumpers, assisted by a helicopter, remained on the fire Friday.
