Kalispell police were called Tuesday

when a newborn was left alone in a vehicle while a mother shopped. A passer-by was concerned about the crying infant's safety inside the hot car and broke a window. The mother said she was unaware the child was in the car and believed her husband had the baby with him. She was cited for endangering a child.

A chinchilla found in the drive-through lane at Taco John's couldn't get any service, but it did get adopted by an employee, with the animal warden's approval.

On Main and Idaho streets, a woman called police to say she was following her husband, who was following their runaway daughter, who took one of their vehicles without permission five days ago. The parents lost their daughter in traffic.

A man on Willow Glen Drive was arrested for DUI and disorderly conduct. A woman was accused of assaulting an officer and a teenager was accused of alcohol possession at a home on Bluestone. A woman was arrested on her third charge of DUI on Second Street East.

A wallet and CDs were reported stolen at Taco Bell. A wallet was stolen on Sunnyview Lane.

A drunken man was given a ride to another location to sleep after causing a disturbance at the Blue and White motel.

A driver pulled up to a house on Whitefish Stage Road, snapped a picture of the home, and drove away, waving.

Bloody paper towels and beer bottles were found around a vehicle on Woodland Park Drive.

All that was stolen from a home on Parliament Drive were some CDs and a $75 pair of jeans with $125 in the pocket.
